On this page, you’ll find local opportunities for writers. Many of them will have HNWA members as speakers or event planners, however, some of these are not official HNWA events. We want to be a clearing house of opportunities for you! If you find out about an event that others writers need to know about, feel free to drop us an email. We’ll check it out and add it here so that others can benefit and grow.

This in-person event will take place at 4374 River Road, Manchester, GA, USA starting on Fri Apr 26 2024 at 4:00 PM. Get ready to immerse yourself in a supportive and motivating environment where you can focus on your craft, share ideas, and learn from experienced writers. Whether you’re a seasoned author or just starting out, this retreat is the perfect opportunity to recharge and reignite your passion for writing. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to grow as a writer and have a great time doing it!
The retreat will begin on Friday with a cocktail hour (BYOB), dinner, and networking. We will have a hometown style BBQ dinner prepared by some of the areas finest BBQ chefs. This is a great opportunity to network with other writers and published authors. Saturday will be packed with four break-out sessions, plenty of time for networking, and dinner on the grounds. The retreat will finish on Sunday with three breakout sessions, to include a Q&A panel with our published authors.
Attendees are encouraged to bring notebooks, laptops, pens, etc. There is seating onsite but attendees may bring folding camp-type chairs which can be used at the fire pit. Attendees may bring their own alcohol for the cocktail hour as this will NOT be provided by the event. Overnight accommodations are available $90 – $150/2 nights. To reserve, please email may.mcdaniel@gmail.com. The detailed itinerary and welcome packet will be emailed to all participants closer to the date of the event.
